I'm happy with it for the most part. I think it's BS that you allow the eraser to be used on the 1st document and only when the customer goes to use it again, do you mention that it's an upgrade is bad business!!!!!! There's another issue but at the moment it escapes me.

Prevent Copy/Paste over Data Validated cells The only way to prevent that from happening is to write a macro that detects updates to the cells, determines if data validation is enabled on the cells, and then denies the paste if true. Select all the cells that have data validation and name them DataValidationRange.
To copy the validation rule in Excel, perform these 4 quick steps: Select the cell to which the validation rule applies and press Ctrl + C to copy it. Select other cells you want to validate. Right-click the selection, click Paste Special, and select Validation from the context menu.
Select the drop down list cell and copy it by pressing the Ctrl + C keys simultaneously. 3. Go to the Word document, click Home > Paste > Paste Special.
Select the cells that you want to apply multiple data validation, then click Data > Data Validation > Data Validation, see screenshot: 2.
Solved Use If function in data validation (Excel) I wish to allow only just next number entry in the cell with regard to entry made in previous cells' whichever has value first. You can't use that type of formula in Data Validation. A Data Validation formula must resolve to TRUE or FALSE.
Excel IF Function. The IF function can perform a logical test and return one value for a TRUE result, and another for a FALSE result. For example, to “pass" scores above 70: =IF(A1>70,"Pass",”Fail"). More than one condition can be tested by nesting IF functions.
Data validation is a feature in Excel used to control what a user can enter into a cell. For example, you could use data validation to make sure a value is a number between 1 and 6, make sure a date occurs in the next 30 days, or make sure a text entry is less than 25 characters.
So we need to use a simple IF function in the Data Validation wizard, one that only has a single logical_test. This will put a 1 or 0 in A1 if the conditions you asked for are met. When the Nested IF in A1 resolves to 1, the Data Validation will be TRUE and the value will be allowed. Let us know if that works for you.

You can then apply Data Validation to that cell, to restrict user input, for example to a list. As long as you apply them in that sequence (formula first, then DV), then Excel will let you do it. The formula will calculate correctly, even if the result is not an allowable input as far as DV is concerned.
