The watermark is usually only seen when the paper is held up to light. It is not a requirement for resumes, however, it does show that the potential employee took the time and expense to purchase high-quality paper.
Watermark means it's good quality paper. If you use it make sure it's printed right side up. When you're holding the resume like you're reading it, the watermark should be readable (I don't mean visible, but the writing should be right side up and not backwards).
For example, most copiers use a lightweight paper, such as a 20 lb. sheet. These sheets of paper are flimsy and are easily moved through a machine. For a resume, however, a slightly thicker weight paper is typically used, such as a 24 lb.
The answer is: none. It is perfectly acceptable to print your resume on a regular white piece of paper from home with your printer. With technology as it is today, the employer has no expectations that you will hand in a heavy stock, gold colored resume.
