I enjoy the ability to convert PDF files back into MS Word. Very Often I will start in MS Word and send the document to an employer who then sends me a final version in PDF which is OK until such time as there is a need amend it. As I don't travel with a copier, printer or scanner this creates problems.

Click the 'select all cells' button in the top left of your spreadsheet. In the format cells window, switch to the fill tab, and choose the color you want to use as the color to highlight the active row. Then click OK on the Format Cells window, and OK on the New Formatting Rule window.

Select the row number to select the entire row. Or click on any cell in the row and then press Shift + Space. To select non-adjacent rows or columns, hold Ctrl and select the row or column numbers.
Open an Excel workbook. Highlight the area you want to apply the effect to. Under the Home tab, click Conditional Formatting. Select New Rule. In the Format Style drop-down, choose Classic. < Choose Use a formula to determine which cells to format. Enter the following formula into the appropriate area: =MOD(Row(),2)=1.
Select the cells which you want to highlight the specific text, and then hold down the ALT + F11 keys to open the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications window.
