I'm not a computer person and I have trouble figuring out how to do things here at pdffiller. I'm sure the shortcomings are mine and not your program's.

The employer has the right to reclaim overpaid wages even if the employee has left the company. However, if the employee has already left, it can be more difficult for employers to recover any overpayments. Action should be taken quickly in case the final salary payment has not yet been made.
For employees Where an employer has made an accidental overpayment of wages/salary or expenses (including holiday pay) to an employee, the employer can legally recover this overpayment from an employee by deducting the overpaid amount from future wages or salary (or any money due to the employee if they leave).
Always notify your employer of an over/under payment. They may have overpaid it they may have come to a different conclusion as to number of hours. Notify and they will either fix it or explain why it is correct.
Always have a clear policy on overpayments in the employment contract and employee handbook, which says employees must report overpayments to their manager immediately. Employ sure will advise you how to legally approach overpayments. For peace of mind, please call our 24-hour Advice Line now on 1300 651 415.
”Under Section 14 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, where the employee remains within employment, the employer is entitled to make a deduction from the employee's ongoing wages to recover the overpaid sum. “If you refuse, or fail, to repay the overpaid wages, you may find that your employer takes you to court.
Let's start with the absolute basics: If you have overpaid an employee by mistake, then yes, you are within your rights to claim that money back. According to UK legislation, you will normally do this by deducting money from future wages until the amount is repaid.
It could take you to court for a judge to decide how much, if any, of the money you should repay. Or it could make deductions from your salary. However, if there has been a genuine overpayment of your wages, your employer doesn't need your consent to recover the money. It can make deductions without your agreement.
If your employer says you've taken too much holiday Your employer can only make you pay them back or work extra days if there's a written agreement. If it is in writing — for example in your contract or a written agreement — check if it also says your employer can take the money you owe them from your final wages.
