Most family-based immigrants and some employment-based immigrants use this form to show they have adequate means of financial support and are not likely to rely on the U.S. government for financial support.
An Affidavit of Support is a contract signed and declared by an individual to guarantee the minimum amount of financial support needed by a student to pay for his / her living expenses, tuition fees, books and supplies for the length of studies.
