Contact your local SNAP office. Typically you cannot close your SNAP case online. The office may be willing to mail forms to you, but usually you must go to the office in person to request your case closed. Call the office and explain that you are moving to a different state and want to close your case.
Requesting an Account Closure. SNAP recipients are free to request an account closure at any time if they no longer want to receive benefits. Call your local social services agency and inform them of your wishes or mail a request. Don't forget to include your name, address, account number and date.
When you receive SNAP benefits accurately and legally, you don't have to pay them back. You do, however, have to pay back benefits if you received them fraudulently, or if the state made an error and gave you too many food stamp dollars.
