It's somewhat costly, but it works. I have no idea whether it's worth it. I needed to get something done, and it was easy to find, so it was worth it to me. I certainly was glad there was a half price sale.

Efficiency Grids allow designers to quickly add elements to a layout because many layout decisions are addressed while building the grid structure. Economy Grids make it easier for other designers to work and collaborate on the design as they provide a plan for where to place elements.
In the most basic terms, a grid is a structure comprising a series of lines (vertical or intersecting) that divide a page into columns or modules. This structure helps designers to arrange content on the page. ... This grid would serve as the framework for the page's layout.
Column Grid Column grids are made up by setting multiple columns inside the format. Column grids are great when discontinuous data needs to be exhibited. Columns can be dependent on one another, autonomous from one other, and traversed by designing elements.
Create a container element, and declare it display: grid;. Use that same container to define the grid tracks using the grid-template-columns and grid-template-rows properties. Place child elements within the container. Specify the gutter sizes using the grid-gap properties.
A grid system is a set of measurements a graphic designer can use to align and size objects within the given format. ... It also allows us to use several grid systems on top of each other, distort the grid system by rotating or scaling it, or generating the grid modules randomly.
The 12-column grid is divided into portions that are 60 pixels wide. The 16-column grid consists of 40 pixel increments. Each column has 10 pixels of margin on the left and right, which create 20 pixel wide gutters between columns.
Because newspaper articles often have shorter paragraphs than novels, use of shorter columns increases the amount of text that will fit in a given area, and because newspapers are very sensitive to printing cost, such considerations are more important than ease of reading.
