Making many seals ahead of time allows you to easily use them for wedding invitations or other mass invites. Whether you want to prep bulk seals for this season's invites, or slowly melt wax over the heat of a candle flame to seal that one special letter, you need to check out their stuff.
Can wax seals go through the mail?
For those of you who are sending your hand-stamped wax seals through the mail, this is usually quite a safe option because your wax seal will be able to bond tightly with your paper when stamped. If your wax seals are made using craft or resealable adhesive we do not recommend placing on the outside of an envelope.
Can you use candle wax for wax seals?
It may be possible to use regular candle wax, by the way, but because it lacks resin, candle wax will not stick as well on the paper, nor hold up too much handling. It's not recommended. You don't have to go either or on sealing waxes.
Is there a difference between sealing wax and candle wax?
There is a big difference between using candle wax and sealing wax because the ingredients in each are different. It is not recommended to use candle wax because it easily crumbles and will not stick to the paper well.

How much wax is needed for a wax seal?
You should be able to make 10-12 seals per stick of wax with a 3/4” stamp or 7 – 10 with a 1” stamper.
What is sealing wax?
In the Middle Ages sealing wax was typically made of beeswax and “Venice turpentine”, a greenish-yellow resinous extract of the European Larch tree. The earliest such wax was uncolored. Later the wax was colored red with vermilion.
How do you seal envelopes with candle wax?
Simply insert the sealing wax tube into a large glue gun. Allow it to heat up completely and squeeze out a dollop of wax onto an envelope. Press the seal directly on top of the wax for a few seconds. Remove it to reveal the seal!
