It has been a very interesting experience, my first time doing my return with your company. I won't need to use your service any more, so please just bill me for this one time only. I'm 89 years old and closing down my accounting business @ 5/31/15.

The Hertzsprung Russell diagram, abbreviated as HR diagram, HR diagram or HRD, is a scatter plot of stars showing the relationship between the stars' absolute magnitudes or minorities versus their stellar classifications or effective temperatures.
The Hertzsprung Russell diagram, abbreviated as HR diagram, HR diagram or HRD, is a scatter plot of stars showing the relationship between the stars' absolute magnitudes or minorities versus their stellar classifications or effective temperatures.
The Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram is a graphical tool that astronomers use to classify stars according to their luminosity, spectral type, color, temperature and evolutionary stage. Stars in the stable phase of hydrogen burning lie along the Main Sequence according to their mass.
Some appear reddish, others yellow or white, or even blue. Those colors actually give clues to the temperatures and ages of the stars and where they are in their life-spans. Astronomers “sort” stars by their colors and temperatures, and the result is a famous graph called the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram.
From the location of a star on the diagram, its luminosity, spectral type, color, temperature, mass, age, chemical composition and evolutionary history are known.
These diagrams, called the Hertzsprung-Russell or HR diagrams, plot luminosity in solar units on the Y axis and stellar temperature on the X axis, as shown below. ... Bright stars at the top, faint stars at the bottom. Our Sun is a fairly average star and sits near the middle.
In an H-R diagram the luminosity or energy output of a star is plotted on the vertical axis. This can be expressed as a ratio of the star's luminosity to that of the Sun; L*/Sun. Astronomers also use the historical concept of magnitude as a measure of a star's luminosity.
luminosity plotted graph classes H-R diagrams are valuable because they reveal important information about the stars plotted on them. After constructing an H-R diagram for a group of stars, an astronomer can make estimates of many important stellar properties including diameter, mass, age, and evolutionary state.
In the HR diagram, total brightness (known as “Luminosity” or “Absolute Magnitude”) is plotted against the surface temperature of the star. As the star goes through its life cycle, it moves along the HR diagram from one place to another. ... So a young star is cool but bright.
The resulting diagram was named after the two discovering astronomers, Ear Hertzsprung of Denmark and Henry Norris Russell of America. Imagine plotting a random sampling of stars from our galaxy. The majority of these stars when plotted on an H-R diagram go down from left to right in a diagonal line.
