Filled in a large medical form of 6 pages and had no hassles As I loaded it for my home use and probably will only use it occasionally I think the cost may be unjustifiable for me to continue with it which is a pity. Why can't I edit a fillable PDF?

Make sure that the security settings allow form filling. (See File > Properties > Security.) Make sure that the PDF includes interactive, or fillable, form fields. If you can't type in the form fields, then the fields are probably not interactive.
