Press MENU on your remote control. Use the down arrow button to highlight Settings, press OK. Use the down arrow button to highlight Television, press OK. Select TV resolution, press OK. Use the arrow buttons to select HD 720p, or HD 1080i or HD 1080p. Press OK.
Make sure that your Spectrum Receiver is on and your TV has a picture. Press the CBL key using your remote. Turn off your receiver, but make sure your TV is still on. Press the Menu button and release it to display the User Settings menu (repeat as needed). Use arrow keys to highlight TV Aspect Ratio.
If the picture looks stretched, your TV is displaying 4:3 standard-def programming at a 16:9 ratio. ... Again, all TVs are different, but look for the aspect ratio adjustments in your picture settings. Make sure it's set to “Auto-Adjust” or “Normal” instead of “Stretch,” “Full Screen,” or “Zoom.”
Use the Up-Down buttons on the remote control to reach the Picture Size option in the Advanced Picture Settings menu. Then, use the Left-Right buttons on the remote to choose your options for the picture size. The settings get applied automatically, you do not have to use any button.
Press the Menu button on your remote control, and select Picture > Picture Size. From here, you can adjust the picture size, position, and aspect ratio. Scroll to Picture Size, and select 16:9, Wide Zoom, Zoom, 4:3, Screen Fit, Smart View 1, or Smart View 2.
Press the OK/Select button twice on your remote while viewing programming to bring up the Mini Guide. RESET DATA on your receiver by pressing Menu on your remote, selecting Account Overview, choosing Equipment and selecting Reset Data. Once the system has reset, try your request again.
