Phone Number fields are used to collect phone numbers and validate that the proper format has been used for the phone number. Phone input field masks for better formatting When you set up your profile fields and want to format phone fields, you can either allow them to enter their phone numbers in way they like, or you can add a phone input mask to automatically format the number based on a predefined template.

When writing phone numbers, a + in the first position means the next one to three digits denote the country code. Therefore, +1 means that the phone number belongs to NAP. In other words, the phone number is somewhere in North America.
The plus (+) symbol is used to represent the outbound, international access code when writing international telephone numbers. Essentially, the symbol means that the caller needs to insert the code used to begin an outbound international call from the country they are calling from.
