For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
In bulleted lists, each paragraph begins with a bullet character. In numbered lists, each paragraph begins with an expression that includes a number or letter and a separator such as a period or parenthesis. The numbers in a numbered list are updated automatically when you add or remove paragraphs in the list.
Either click on the number button (as shown at the beginning of the document) or click Format and then “Bullets and Numbering...” When ready to insert a bullet list in the numbered list, press the numbering button or click Format and then “Bullets and Numbering...”
Bullets and Numbering is a paragraph level attribute that applies a bullet character or a numeral to the start of the paragraph. Applying a bullet is straightforward; numbering is a bit more complicated.
Use bulleted lists for items that are in no required order. With in-sentence lists, there are no conventions when to use letters (a), (b), and so on, as opposed to numbers (1), (2), and so on. If you are in a numbered list and need a subsist, use lowercase letters, to contrast with the numbers.
Follow this general rule for using bulleted and numbered lists: Use bullets for descriptions or a list of items or paragraphs that you wish to emphasize but whose order in the list does not matter. Use numbers for instructions or for listed items that should be counted or used in a sequence.
Use numbers rather than bullets only if: A need to refer to the elements by number may arise; The sequence of the items is critical; or. The numbering has some independent meaning, for example in a listing of musical tracks.
Use a bulleted list to show a list of related items. Use a numbered list to show steps in a process or the number of part in a whole. Use a small amount of space between each line. Look for this space after paragraph option in your word processing and presentation software.
In a numbered list, the numbers are updated automatically when you add or remove paragraphs in the list. Paragraphs that are part of the same list are numbered sequentially. These paragraphs do not have to be consecutive to one another as long as you define a list for the paragraphs.
