One of the new features in Office 2016 is Ink Equation. This feature allows you to insert equations into Word, Excel, and PowerPoint by handwriting them. Ink Equation is designed to be used with a tablet pen on a tablet PC.
Ink Equations allows you to “write” equations on a tablet device using a stylus or your finger and then converts them to text. If you are not using a touchscreen device, you can do the same using a mouse.
To use OneNote Math, you must ink the equation, lasso it, then click the Math button. You'll find the new Math feature in the Draw tab's toolbar. You ink an equation, select it using the lasso tool on the far left of the toolbar, and click the Math button.
To insert a preset equation in Word, place your cursor at insertion point in your document where you want the equation to appear. Then click the Insert tab in the Ribbon. Then click the Equation button in the Symbols button group on the right end of the tab.
Draw or write By default, Draw with Mouse or Touch (or “Inking mode”) is turned on when you are using a mobile device. Just tap the Draw tab, select a pen, and you can begin drawing ink on a slide. To change the settings on a pen: Tap again to open the menu of thickness and color options for the pen.
Ink annotations are a functionality that is only available on tablet PCs, with a specific version of Windows for Tablets. It enables the user to write notes with a stylus (stylist, a, SHG!) straight onto the screen, where the system will grab it and save it with the file as a kind of hand-written note.
Write, draw, or highlight text On the Draw tab of the Ribbon, tap a pen to select it. In Word, you must be in Print layout to draw with ink. If the Draw tab is grayed out so that you can't select a pen, go the View tab and select Print Layout. Tap again to open the menu of Thickness and Color options for the pen.
Drawing in Excel is as simple as drawing in Paint or MS Word. Drawing tools which are provided by Microsoft in Excel are very useful. It gives a touch of professionalism in your data. Excel drawing tools can be accessed from Insert Menu, which has an option Shapes.
