it's a little bit too expensive for me. I will not have to use it very often, maybe only once or twice a month for work, but i do require the premium package for all of the features that i need to have. so it just seems crazy to me to pay almost $200 a year for something im only going to use 24 times the whole year. other than the too high price, i think its a great program!

Select the cells you want to format. In the Format sidebar, click the Cell tab. Click the Data Format pop-up menu, then choose To create Custom Format. Type a name for your format, then click the Type pop-up menu and choose Text.
Add a helper column next to the column with the numbers to format. Enter the formula =TEXT(C2,"0") to the cell D2. Copy the formula across the column using the fill handle. You will see the alignment change to left in the helper column after applying the formula.
Select one or more cells. In the Format sidebar, click the Cell tab. Click Conditional Highlighting, then click Add a Rule. Click a type of rule (for example, if your cell value will be a number, select Numbers), then click a rule. Enter values for the rule.
Conditional Highlighting in Numbers lets you color a cell based on the contents of that cell. If you need to set a cell to highlight based on the contents of other cells, you can use the IF function first, and then the conditional highlighting based on the results of that IF function.
Any color: Click the pop-up menu below the Font section, then choose Text Color. Click the color wheel, then choose a color from one of the color palettes. A two-color gradient fill: Click the pop-up menu below the Font section and choose Gradient Fill. Choose two colors.
Select the text you want to highlight. Choose Insert > Highlight (from the Insert menu at the top of your screen). The Insert button on the Numbers toolbar doesn't have the Highlight command.
Select the cells in column you want to split (just as you would in Excel). Choose 'Text to Columns 'from your Numbers > Services menu. Click once in the top-left destination cell (I usually pick a cell in the column to the right of the original values, so I can double-check results), and command-v to paste.
