Documents, when executed on stamp paper of the prescribed value, are valid and legitimate. Documents that are properly stamped are proper legal documents and can be admitted as evidence by the court. A document inadequately stamped is liable to be impounded and penalties imposed.
Validity and expiry of old stamp paper: (see here), it was held by the Supreme Court that a stamp paper, even if it is more than six months old, is valid to be used. Section 54 just bars taking refund after six months of purchase, but it does not restrict the use of such old stamp paper for an agreement.
Agreements on normal papers (and not stamp paper) are valid in evidence and are enforceable as against the parties who have signed the same. They can be used as evidence and proof in a court.

So we can say that as Per Provisions of Indian Stamp Act, 1839 and as per the Supreme Court Judgment, there no validity of Stamp Paper on Paper, but in actual the Validity of Stamp Paper is Six Months Practically off paper especially in the State of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
HOUSE SALE TAX IN INDIA According to Section 52 (B)(a) of Bombay Stamp Act, 1958 and Section 52C of Bombay Stamp (Gujarat Amendment) Act, the validity of the stamp is for the period of 6 months from the date of purchase of Stamp paper or delivery of Stamp paper.
Validity depends on the classification of the writing on the stamp paper. Some documents require compulsory registration. In case the document is not attested or registered then though the document may be valid is mostly difficult Proof in the absence of supporting evidence proving its due execution.
The stamp papers do not have any expiry period. Section 54 does not require the person who has purchased a stamp paper, to use it within six months. Therefore, there is no impediment for a stamp paper purchased more than six months prior to the proposed date of execution, being used for a document.
