According to the UETA, electronic records or signatures are not denied legal effect solely because they are in electronic form or created by an e-signature platform. Contracts are not denied legal effect solely because electronic records were used in their formation. If a law requires a record to be in writing or a signature, electronic equivalents satisfy the law. A digital record or signature is attributable to a person if it was their act, proven by any effective security procedure.
