When I had a deadline to meet and needed to get a series of pdf documents ready ASAP, I was able to use the template feature to save certain information to all docs at once and just fill in the info that differed. How do I make a custom field mandatory in Jira?
Select the Jira icon (,, , or) > Jira settings > Issues. In the Fields section, click Field configurations. Click Configure next to the field configuration you wish to edit. You will see next to fields that have already been marked required.

On the Validators tab, click Add. Select the Fields Required option and click Add. Select the field or fields that you want to make required for the transition. Click Add to complete the creation of a Validator.
