The user interface for entering numbers in a field is not particularly user friendly. That's the biggest thing. A feature to 'delight' your customers would be to include a field that had a simple 'summation' function.

What is legally required on an invoice?

There is some information that you must legally include on your invoices. The business name and address of the customer you're invoicing. A clear description of what you're charging for. The date you provided the goods or services (which is also known as the supply date)

Does an invoice need to be Itemized?

Invoice is a document presented to the customer before or after supplying the goods or services. It is a legal document that can be annulled with a credit note if issued incorrectly. If you are a seller, you are not allowed to simply remove an invoice from sales records.

Do invoices have to be Itemized?

You need an itemized list, possibly with a description of every product or service you're invoicing for. Provide the cost of each item, ideally in a column to the right. The clearer the description, the less likely it is that a customer will have a query.

Do customers need to sign invoices?

If both sides do not agree to the invoice, then it is not legally binding. The tenuous legal standing of an invoice is the very reason why vendors require signatures from the client, or some other binding form of acceptance, before sending out a product. 'Itemized bill of costs' is defined as a bill that specifies in detail how the legal costs are made up to enable assessment/review. 36(1) of the Legal Profession Act 2004 (Vic), a person who was entitled to seek review of a bill could request an itemized bill only if a lump sum bill had been rendered.

Is there a time limit on invoicing?

There is no specific time limit set for invoices. The legal wording generally used is that an invoice must be issued within a “reasonable” amount of time. The definition of reasonable varies depending on the industry you are in, state and about any other circumstance you could think of.

Is an invoice number a legal requirement?

It is the legal obligation of the seller to invoice the customer once the product is sold or the services are provided. There is no prescribed statutory template for an invoice, although there are prescribed standards to which you must adhere in order to make your invoice legally binding.
