How do you protect medical records when sending a fax?
Never let incoming faxes sit on publicly available fax machines. Dump your manual fax machine and use a HIPAA-compliant cloud fax service. Always use cover pages. Keep an audit trail. Be aware of all PHI stored on local devices.
Can you send medical records via fax?
