For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
FYI: Watermarks won't appear on photos less than 800 pixels on the longest side. The default proof watermark will apply to the Large display size and photos larger than 801 pixels on the longest side. Custom watermarks can be set to apply to any size down to the Thumb display size.
Use at least 50% Opacity The lower the opacity, the easier it is to remove the watermark and the less visible the artifacts will be. It is mostly better to use an opaque watermark rather over a small area than a translucent watermark over a large area.
In short, your watermark should be visible but tasteful. Many photographers find that an opacity between 20 and 30 percent makes a watermark visible but not too intrusive, but this range isn't the only solution. Some photographers use higher opacities but place their watermarks in areas away from the subject.
Color. The color of your watermark should be something that does not hog the attention of the viewer away from the image. The watermark should be there in the image, but it shouldn't appear too obvious. I'd personally prefer a white color if the image isn't too bright.
Watermarks DO NOT Protect You From Piracy In no way, shape or form, does a simple watermark protect you. The only exception to this is a full image watermark, the kind that stock photography companies use to protect images. These are impossible to remove completely.
If you make you watermark too small and have to scale it up a lot you will lose clarity and quality. Anywhere between 500 and 1000 pixels wide is a good size that will work for most image sizes.
Generally, a watermark should: Be placed in a discreet area of the image that does not interfere with the view of the image, but will make it more difficult to remove or clone out. Have limited text. If the watermark is small, then having text will be all but near impossible to read.
Photographers who share their images online and choose to use a watermark usually do so for four main reasons: ... They feel that a watermark will allow viewers to more easily find and quickly identify their photos and brand as images get shared around the Web. This can be highly beneficial for marketing purposes.
One of the most versatile mobile watermarking solutions is an app called watermark. Available for both Android and iOS, the app lets you choose any photo from your library and add a watermark with just a few taps.
