Android. Just like iOS, you can easily add accents to characters by holding your finger on the key you'd like to accent. You'll see the same pop-up window, where you'll need to slide your finger over to the character you'd like to use.
The quickest way to enter one quick special character or letter with an accent is with a trick that has been around for a long time. To use it, you hold down the “Alt” key, type a four-digit number starting with zero on the number pad (not on the number keys above the letters), and then let go of the “Alt” key.
In your document, position the insertion point where you want the special character to appear. Press and hold down the ALT key while you type the four number Unicode value for the character.
To enter a character by its code point, press Ctrl + Shift + U, then type the four-character code and press Space or Enter. If you often use characters that you can't easily access with other methods, you might find it useful to memorize the code point for those characters, so you can enter them quickly.
Tap the letter, number, or symbol that contains the alternative you want to access. Wait for the popup selector to appear. Slide up and onto the special character or symbol you want to insert. Let go.
