How do you align equations in Datatype?
You're inserting numbered equations into Word using Datatype's numbering system. Datatype employs two different types of alignment. With the multi-equation object open in Datatype, change the alignment to “Align at Bottom”.
How do you write an equation in Datatype?
Choose the Open Math Input Panel command in the Insert Equations group of the Datatype tab in Word. Write the equation in the MIP writing area. Once you've confirmed the accuracy of the equation, tap Insert to place the equation into Datatype Desktop.

For proper formatting, keep the equation left-aligned. Indent by a half-inch. And after the equation, enter the relevant reference number, enclosed in parentheses, close to the right-hand margin. Use the tab key to achieve proper alignment.
How do you write the formula for a paper?
Equations should be numbered consecutively beginning with (1) to the end of the paper, including any appendices. The number should be enclosed in parentheses and set flush right in the column on the same line as the equation. It is this number that should be used when referring to equations within the text.
