How do you footnote a link?
Select 'Source' and find your first footnote number in the body of the text.
Click on the 'Source' button on the text editor toolbar.
Now find the footnote/bit of text you are linking to at the bottom of the document.
Click on Source and find the line of text you want to link to another section in the article.
How do I insert a footnote next?
Click where you want to reference to the footnote or end note.
On the References tab, select Insert Footnote or Insert End note.
Enter what you want in the footnote or end note.
Return to your place in the document by double-clicking the number or symbol at the beginning of the note.

Do you have to type the footnote text for one footnote before you can add another?
When you add a footnote to a document, Word's normal formatting adds a space after the footnote number and before the body of the footnote. You may want Word to use a tab instead of the space. There are a couple of ways you can approach this problem, as discussed in this tip.
How do you put a footnote on only one page?
Click on References.
Then click Insert Footnote.
It will create a numbered list of footnotes in the bottom margin of the page. Type your footnote here.
How do you insert a footnote in text?
Click where you want to reference to the footnote or end note.
On the References tab, select Insert Footnote or Insert End note.
Enter what you want in the footnote or end note.
Return to your place in the document by double-clicking the number or symbol at the beginning of the note.
How do you add the same footnote twice?
Insert your first (primary) footnote as normal.
Position the insertion point in the document where you want the secondary reference to the footnote.
Choose Insert | Reference | Cross-reference.
Using the Reference Type drop-down list, choose Footnote.
Select the footnote you want used for this reference.
Click Insert.
