TAG, for the uninitiated, means Transfer Admission Guarantee and yes, it means exactly what it says guaranteed admission to one of six UCS: Davis, Irvine, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara or Santa Cruz. (UC Berkeley, UCLA and San Diego do not offer TAG.)

Guaranteed Admissions-Many public universities offer automatic admissions to students who meet certain academic and/or test scores requirements. Students must still apply but get admissions offers earlier than other students. Some guarantee admissions to schools in local service areas or at certain sets of colleges.
A Transfer Admission Guarantee (also known as a TAG agreement) is a program that offers students from a community college guaranteed admissions to several colleges and universities. The writing of a TAG contract enables qualified students to be guaranteed admissions one year prior to transfer.
