Go to Measure > Count or press SHIFT+ALT+C. The Count measurement mode is engaged. Select the Properties tab and set the Count measurement's appearance, if desired. Click each object in the PDF to be counted. Press ESC after placing the last Count markup to stop counting.
Go to the tab where you opened your PDF file, press CTRL + A to select all content of PDF file. After selecting the content, click the right button of the mouse. Now select Count Selected Text option from a menu option. After clicking on the option, you will see a popup that mentioned words and characters count.
To find out the word and character count of your writing, simply copy and paste text into the tool or write directly into the text area. Once done, the free online tool will display both counts for the text that's been inserted.
Open the PDF in Preview. Select All Text. Copy to clipboard. Run the Terminal command: paste | WC -w.
Open the file in read mode and handle it in text mode. Read the text using read() function. Split the text using space separator. The length of the split list should give the number of words.
When you type in a document, Word automatically counts the number of pages and words in your document and displays them on the status bar at the bottom of the workspace. If you don't see the word count in the status bar right-click the status bar and click Word Count.
