For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Non-Commercial License: A Class D license is given to persons at least 16 years of age who are eligible to drive a Class D non-commercial motor vehicle.
At age 16, individuals are eligible for a learner's permit. During this stage individuals may only drive when accompanied by a licensed parent or guardian, an adult at least 20 years old who has held a driver's license for at least 4 or more suspension-free consecutive years, or a driving instructor.
Legally, a restricted driver (ages 1618) that is in their first year of driving must have a signed permission note from their parents in order to transport a sibling. The law allows the following exceptions when reasonable transportation is not available, and it is necessary for you to drive.
Teen drivers are more susceptible to distraction from passengers in their vehicle. Since distractions are dangerous to driving, teens may not drive with passengers under the age of 20 years old for the first 12 months. If one of the passengers is over the age of 25, they may have other passengers under the age of 20.
During the first 12 months after you are licensed, you cannot drive between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. and cannot transport passengers under 20 years old, unless accompanied by a California-licensed parent or guardian, a California-licensed driver 25 years old or older, or a licensed or certified driving instructor.
Teens with a provisional license are allowed to drive alone, but must follow certain restrictions. For the first 12 months they may not drive between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. (Some exceptions are granted.) They also may not transport passengers under 20 unless accompanied by a licensed driver age 25 or older.
The first step in learning to drive is getting a learner permit or license. For this, your child needs to be 16 years old except in the ACT, where it's 15 years and 9 months. In some states, you just fill in a learner license application form. When learner drivers pass their driving test, they can get their PS.
You can obtain your learner's permit 6 months after your 15th birthday.
