The native resolution of a screen refers to the physical number of vertical and horizontal pixels contained within it. More plainly, the number of dots on the screen that can change color. Furthermore, native resolution refers to dimensions at which the display should be running.
The size of a desktop computer monitor can be determined by physically measuring the screen. Using a measuring tape, measure the size of the screen from the top left corner down to the bottom right corner. Measure only the screen and do not include the bezel (the plastic edge) around the screen.
Laptop screen size is measured in inches, diagonally from corner to corner (not including the bezel). You'll take a measuring tape and place it in the bottom left corner and measure the screen up to the top right corner; convert it to inches. This will be the size of your computer screen.
A larger laptop screen size, such as 15 inches or greater, can be used as a desktop replacement. Like computer monitors, laptop screens are measured by taking the diagonal length from the upper left corner to the lower right.
