This is a good app. It could be improved with navigation that's a bit less clunky - more intuitive. I also wish there was a way to fill out forms without having to recenter, re-size, re-font the text so it looks normal in the document.

Convenient way to quickly and efficiently pull of important forms and documents, and fill them out clearly since they are typed verses unique handwriting. Excellent tool. Thank you to the creators.

It's called the slide stop. It's there for a reason. When you've fired the last round in your pistol's magazine, the magazine's follower pushes up against the slide stop and causes it to catch in a recess in the pistol's slide. This, in turn, causes the slide to be locked back.
A slide stop, sometimes referred to as a slide lock or slide release, on a semi-automatic handgun is a function that visually indicates when a handgun has expended all loaded ammunition and facilitates faster reloading by pulling back the slide or depressing the slide lock to advance the first round of a new magazine.
The slide on all Glock pistols will automatically lock back when the magazine is empty. It is designed that way to facilitate reloading. It will not automatically lock back when there is no magazine in place. Furthermore, it can be locked back manually by pushing up on the slide release lever.
There's a little lever on the side of most semi-automatic handguns. Furthermore, it's called the slide stop. ... When you've fired the last round in your pistol's magazine, the magazine's follower pushes up against the slide stop and causes it to catch in a recess in the pistol's slide.
The Reader's Digest version is that after the primer is ignited and the round sent rocketing down the barrel, the slide moves to the rear in order to extract and eject the spent casing and make ready the hammer/striker. The slide then moves forward to pick up the next round from the magazine and chamber it.
When the slide is jammed against the slide lock lever under heavy tension, pushing that lever out of the way results in some metal-to-metal wear. When racking the slide, pulling the slide back causes the catch to drop out of the way (at least in theory), so the action doesn't wear the slide lock catch as much.
Short answer: No, you are not harming the recoil spring or any other part of the pistol by storing it this way. There is a popular misconception that springs are worn down more quickly by keeping them compressed. The truth is that springs wear down most quickly by being compressed and released over and over.
This is a factory Glock extended slide stop lever with a larger surface area that allows the shooter to maintain a better grip when releasing the slide at increased speeds. There is no need to change hand, eye or head position — due to the feel of the lever.
If you put a fresh magazine in, the pistol will NOT fire without a round in the chamber, which involves RACKING THE SLIDE. If the slide is down when you slap the magazine home, no round goes into the chamber. If the slide is locked back, you can't fire until the slide is closed.
