Can I lock my tenant out?

Lockouts: Locking a tenant out without a court order to evict a tenant is illegal. A landlord cannot change the lock on a tenant, even if a tenant is behind in rent. The landlord has to go through the eviction process legally. Some landlords may exercise this illegal procedure to try and 'force' the tenant to move out.
