It is sometimes difficult to understand how to use the different functionalities. Your "how to" guides focus on "push this button, then this" but are not focused on the end product (i.e. " how do you create a XXXX")

The intricacies of weaving through browser and google app to use this plugin are quite noteworthy. I consider it a great achievement that the plugin seems to work, even when it encounters strange circumstances. For all that this is a bit ungainly, there were some things I wished worked a little better, but overall quite good.

Place the cursor at the start of the first line on the page where you want to stop, start, or change page numbering. Click Layout to display the Layout tab. Click Breaks, and then click Next Page. On the page after the section break, double-click in the header or footer area where you want to display page numbers.

Format Page Numbers As long as your document is divided into Sections, you can have differently formatted page numbers in each Section of your document. If you restart page numbering in a Section and then add a Section break for a new Section, the new Section will also restart page numbering at the same point.
The 'skipped' pages because of section breaks are intentionally left blank. It is how Word is designed. If you want your header/footer and whatnot, add an extra page wherever there is a missing page.
Simply click the “Insert” option on the ribbon menu, then click “Page Number.” Choose from one of the options to position the numbers where you want them, such as on the top or bottom of the page. Click “Page Number” again and click “Format Page Numbers” to choose font, size and other display settings.
To choose a format or to control the starting number, go to Header & Footer > Page Number > Format Page Numbers. To change the numbering style, select a different style in Number format. To change the starting page number of the newly created section, select Start at, and then enter a number.
Simply click the “Insert” option on the ribbon menu, then click “Page Number.” Choose from one of the options to position the numbers where you want them, such as on the top or bottom of the page. Click “Page Number” again and click “Format Page Numbers” to choose font, size and other display settings.
Tip: If you want your second page to start at 1 rather than 2, go to Insert > Page Number > Format Page Numbers, and set Start at under Page Numbering to 0, rather than 1.
