To inside column A, right-click the column B header or label and pick Inside Columns. To inside row 1, right-click the row 2 header or label and pick Inside Rows. Tip: If you don't see Inside Columns or Inside Rows, make sure you're right-clicking inside the column or row label.
Click the “Select All” button, which is the button in the top left corner of the spreadsheet. You can also click “Ctrl-A” to select the entire spreadsheet. Click “Format” in the Cells group of the Home tab. Select “Visibility,” and then select “Hide & Inside” and “Inside Columns” to make all missing columns visible.
Select the columns to the left and right of the column you want to inside. For example, to show hidden column B, select columns A and C. Go to the Home tab > Cells group, and click Format > Hide & Inside > Inside columns.
Click the Format button located on the Home tab / Cells group then choose Hide Columns or Rows (another option is to Right-click on a highlighted column or row heading and select hide). Your Columns and Rows are now hidden.

Just click the column header. The status bar, in the lower-right corner of your Excel window, will tell you the row count. Do the same thing to count columns, but this time click the row selector at the left end of the row. If you select an entire row or column, Excel counts just the cells that contain data.
