How long should a print head last?
Generally print heads should serve you 1.5 – 2 years before giving any problems like print quality issues. You shouldn't need to replace them until you see a message on the printer instructing you to do so.
How do I fix a print head problem?
Clean the print head. First, you will have to press the Power button to turn off the printer. Restart the printer. First, you will have to turn on the printer and wait until the printer is idle and silent. Replace the print head.
What does it mean when your printer says problem with print head?
HP print heads clog periodically as small amounts of ink or dust dry up and collect in the nozzle. Faint, streaky or spotty prints are all common signs of a clog, but a simple cleaning can usually get your HP ink cartridges working again. Print heads clog due to infrequent cartridge use.
