Select the content control. Click 'Design Mode' on the developer tab. Change the text. Click Design Mode again.
View the Developer tab to add or change content controls To add a control, click in the document where you want to add it, and then click the control you want to add on the Design tab. To set properties on a control or change an existing control, on the Developer tab, in the Controls group, click Properties.
On the Developer tab, click the Design Mode button to turn on Design Mode if it is not already on. Click inside the control, where the placeholder text is, and edit the placeholder text there.
A rich text control can contain custom formatted text or other items, such as tables, pictures, or other content controls. Before Word 2013, rich text controls cannot be bound to an XML data node. Plain Text. A plain text content control is limited to plain text in a single or multiple paragraphs.
For a plain text control, it is Click or tap here to enter text. You can edit this text for any control by clicking on the Design Mode button that is to the right of the control icons. You'll see some blue placeholders appear on the left and right of any controls you have added to your document.
Insert your content control. Click “Design Mode” (in the Controls section of the Developer ribbon) The default text (“Click here to enter text”) can now be edited in any way you want -- with one exception: it must contain at least one character (but it can be a space).
Open up your editable form in Word. Click on the 'Design Mode' icon in the 'Controls' area. You will now be able to edit all the default text that appears in your editable form fields. Click the 'Design Mode' icon again to toggle it off.
Step 1: Show Developer tab. To do this click on File tab> Options> Customize Ribbon. Step 3: Add Content to the form. Go to Developer tab and then Design mode, and you can then insert the controls that you want. Step 5: Add Instructional text to the form. Customize it by clicking on Developer tab and then Design Mode.
