Yes before you protect the worksheet select the cells you want the user to be able to edit, right click and select format Cells, then on the protection tab uncheck “locked”. What if I want anyone to be able to enter into all cells, insert rows and paste items without botching up the conditional formatting?
Unlock the cells that you have conditional formatting on but want the user to modify. Then protect the worksheet, using the default lock settings shown of “Select locked cells” and “Select unlocked cells”. The cells can then be edited, but conditional formatting can't be changed.
