How can I lose my Section 8 voucher?

Can my Section 8 be terminated?
A housing authority can initiate termination of a Section 8 voucher for a number of reasons, including providing misinformation, failure to report changes in income or household size, failure to pay rent or utilities or eviction from the subsidized unit.
How do I fight a Section 8 termination?
If your PHA rules to terminate your Housing Choice (Section 8) Voucher program assistance, you have a right to appeal the decision. Your PHA is required to notify you in writing that your assistance is being terminated. If this happens to you, you can request a hearing before the deadline set by the PHA.
Can I get Section 8 again after being terminated?
If you receive housing through Section 8 and it has been terminated because of a contract violation, reapply to get your benefits restored. Not all Section 8 contracts can be reinstated -- if your housing was denied due to a drug conviction, for example, you may not be able to get your housing back.
What will disqualify you from Section 8?
You may be disqualified in the following situations: You have been convicted of certain violent crimes, certain types of fraud, drug trafficking. (If you have such a conviction, you need to call your local Housing Authority and ask if you should apply).
How can I get my Section 8 back?

How do I get a Section 8 voucher?
Find your local Public Housing Agency (PHA). Determine if you are eligible. Obtain an application for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. Fill out and submit the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program application. Find out Waiting List status.
How much will my Section 8 voucher be?
If they are approved, selected and then find an apartment or house with the voucher, their local housing authority starts sending payments directly to landlords. The payments cover some or all of the voucher holder's rent. On average, each household will pay somewhere between 30% and 40% of its income on rent.
