The Walmart Protection Plan offers a product replacement or refund under the right circumstances. The plan does have conditions, and you must read it thoroughly when purchasing the protection. It essentially acts like a warranty service against manufacturer defects and damage.

Most products come with a manufacturer's warranty that lasts 90 days to one year from the date of purchase.
Walmart gives you 30 days to decide and if you still have the receipt from your purchase you can purchase a plan for the item. Even if you received a gift, you can opt to purchase an extended warranty plan, but you must know the purchase price and the date of the purchase.
The product care plans work. And they're worth it. If you break an item that's two years old, and you purchased the plan for three years they'll either fix it or replace it. You owe nothing.
