A service agreement can be canceled at anytime. The cancellation must be executed in accordance with the terms of the contract, or it can be considered a broken contract or breach of contract. Statutory law protects the rights of consumers to cancel service contracts under certain circumstances.

You have 60 days to cancel a service contract for a new vehicle without penalty. On a used vehicle, you can cancel a service contract within 30 days without penalty. After 30 days, you can cancel and receive a partial refund.
The three-day cooling-off rule allows consumers to cancel contracts made for future services within 72 hours of signing the contract.
You can cancel an extended warranty at any time, and you'll get a prorated refund for the unused portion of your policy. If the warranty was included in your loan, your car payment won't drop, but you may pay off the car sooner after the refund is deducted from your balance.
