So far printing doesn't work when printing directly from filled in form. I need to save it to my desktop and open in my pdf application and print from there.

Yes. I would contact them to set up your service as normal and tell them you want to port your old number. Make sure Verizon doesn't turn off your account. If they do, then the number may no longer be available to port.
How long does it take for Verizon to release a number?
Wireless to wireless ports generally should take up to 24 hours, but could take longer. Landline to wireless ports generally should take no more than four days, but could take longer. Note: Actual processing time may vary depending on the complexity of the port and your old service provider.
