Click the “Tools” menu, select “Protect Document,” and then click “Sheet” to unlock the spreadsheet.
On the Review tab, click Protect Sheet (in the Changes group). Click the Protect Sheet button to Protect Sheet when a worksheet is protected. If prompted, enter the password to protect the worksheet.
Run the Excel whose sheets are protected from modifying. Select all the cells in the Excel by pressing 'Ctrl + A', then copy these cells by pressing 'Ctrl + C'. Create a new sheet and paste these cells in this sheet by pressing 'Ctrl + V'.
Open the document and enter the password to get full access. Now navigate to File > Info > Protect Document > Encrypt with Password. Now in-order to remove password you have to leave the space empty then click “OK”. Now your file is decrypted successfully.
Right-click on the worksheet tab and select the protect button. We can also go to the review tab and select protect sheet. Next, we will go to the home tab, select Cells group and click Format. Next, we will pick Select Protect sheet
When editing text in Google Spreadsheets, in the formula bar, or editing the name of the sheet, overwrite is toggled, and pressing the insert key (number pad or 'regular' insert key, unlock active or not) has no effect on this behavior.
