Estimating the final cost of publication per paper based upon revenue generated and the total number of published articles, they estimate that the average cost to publish an article is around $3500 to $4000.
Suddenly, scientists can compare between different publishing prices. A paper that costs US$5,000 for an author to publish in Cell Reports, for example, might cost just $1,350 to publish in Los ONE whereas PeerJ offers to publish an unlimited number of papers per author for a one-time fee of $299.
For an entirely open access article in the most prestigious of scientific journals, author publishing charges or article processing fees can be as high as $5000US, but some legitimate open access journals charge minimal amounts of $10 to $20US, and journals in certain scientific fields and subject areas tend to be more
Paper should be published free of cost, and almost all the journals publish manuscripts without any cost except some purely open access journals. There are a number of services you can make use of those to finalize a journal to submit your manuscript.
Direct: In many academic or even industrial institutes, researchers are being paid and are bound to perform research and publish paper in certain journals or conferences (mostly journal). Moreover, there are some universities that pay incentive to publish in journals (like US$ 2000) for each paper published.
According to this Scholarly Open Access blog entry, the Journal of CENTRAL Cathedral: The Business and Economics Research Journal pays US$2500 for each paper published and also pays US$500 for each peer review. It also seems that the Journal of Information Ethics used to pay US$50 per article published.
Publishing papers is basically just a means to demonstrate research being done (and to disseminate it, of course). In most cases you pay the journals for publishing it (in case it gets accepted).
However, this doesn't mean that you can't receive money for your dissertation-turned-article. As long as the journal has an ISSN, you can register the details of any articles that you publish with them, and they collect photocopy fees for you.
