Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Think Long-Term. It's the oldest saying in the book: Don't burn bridges. Think Rationally. Leaving a job can be an emotional experience for you and your boss. Think Ahead. Keep your resignation letter short and to the point and provide the effective date of your resignation. Think Positive.
Make sure you're committed to quitting. Write out a resignation letter. Practice what you'll say. Be ready for questions. Prepare for a counter offer. Stay positive.
Request an in-person meeting. Outline your reasons for quitting. Give at least two weeks' notice. Offer to facilitate position transition. Express gratitude. Provide constructive feedback. Provide your formal letter of resignation.
Get your contacts up to date. Quietly remove some of your personal belongings. Stay calm. Put it in writing. Give appropriate notice. Be honest in exit interview. Make the transition smooth. Follow up with colleagues.
Don't tell your colleagues about your plans before you tell your manager. Quit in person. Give at least two weeks notice. Write a two weeks notice letter. Finish strong. Train your replacement. Write a goodbye email to your teammates. Express gratitude toward your mentors.
Keep it professional. Keep it short and sweet. Provide reasons for leaving (optional). Remain polite. Say thank you to your employer for the role. Offer to help in the transition period. Avoid personal criticism. Finish your resignation letter positively.
Make sure you've thought about your decision and are not resigning impulsively. Schedule a specific time to talk to your boss in-person. Walk in with a printed letter of resignation and tell them that you're giving your two weeks notice.
What's the best way to quit a job? When you resign from your job, it's important to do so as gracefully and professionally as possible. If you can, give adequate notice to your employer, write a formal resignation letter, and be prepared to move on prior to submitting your resignation.
