How do I get a pest control license?
Obtain your high school diploma or equivalent. Take pest control courses offered through your state's department of agriculture or similar governing body. Take the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Pesticide Operator Core Exam. Undergo training from an employer after receiving certification.
Do exterminators need a license?

Are pest control companies licensed?
Pest control companies and individuals making household treatments must operate with a license issued by the California State Structural Pest Control Board. Verify the status of an individual's certificate or a business' license online or telephone 916-445-4038.
How often should pest control be done?
For apartments and homes, we recommend regular pest control treatments on a quarterly basis, or 2 to 3 months, in order to effectively prevent common pests or when you move into a new home or apartment. For more serious infestations, monthly treatments over the course of 3 to 6 months are advisable.

What license do I need to spray lawns?
