I bought this to use at work. It's so easy to use and keep documents looking professional. It's nice that it's cloud based so I can use it when working remotely as well. The mobile app is great too. A great resource for a great price.

What is an Affidavit Judgment? A creditor can file for a Judgment on Affidavit (also known as an Affidavit Judgment) if it has documents that it believes prove that a Defendant owes the creditor a specific amount of money.
A confession of judgement is an affidavit in which a party admits liability to another party, accepts a quantification of damages and agrees that the affidavit may be filed as a judgement upon the occurrence of a stated condition, usually an affidavit from the creditor attesting to the default.
A confession of judgement (COM) in New York is a way for a party to obtain a judgement without the need to bring a lawsuit. It is a document in the form of an affidavit by the party confessing judgement. Both individuals and entities (i.e., such as corporations and LCS) can confess judgement.
What Is a Confession of Judgment? A confession of judgement is a written agreement, signed by the defendant, that accepts the liability and amount of damages that was agreed on. A confession of judgement is a way to circumvent normal court proceedings and avoid a lengthy legal process to resolve a dispute.
California's Code of Civil Procedure sets forth the law governing confession of judgement procedures at CD 1132 1134. Specifically, §1132(b) states: 1132. Still others hold it illegal, making void any agreement to confess judgement that is entered into prior to commencement of an action.
You have only 30 days from this date to file a motion to vacate the judgement or appeal the judge's decision. Exception: If you are the defendant, and you did not go to court because you were not properly served with the Plaintiff's Claim, you have 180 days to file a motion to vacate the judgement.
A vacated judgement makes a previous legal judgement legally void. A vacated judgement is usually the result of the judgement of an appellate court, which overturns, reverses, or sets aside the judgement of a lower court. An appellate court may also vacate its own decisions.
In California, for example, a judge can vacate a default judgement taken due to mistake, inadvertence, surprise, or excusable neglect. Under that state's law, you can vacate a default if the judge believes you had a reasonable excuse for missing the original court date as well as a good defense to the lawsuit.
