What do you like best?

The most important information on your bill is summarized on the top right-hand corner: your PPL Electric Utilities account number, the bill due date, and the total amount due. Your PPL account number is 9 digits long, and you will need to use this number to switch to a new supplier when you shop for electricity.
Electricity. Your bill includes a line item called Electricity. This is the cost of the electricity that you used during the billing period. These rates vary depending on how much electricity you use.
Your energy charge reflects how many kilowatt-hours you consumed during the entire billing period. It would be likened to how much water passed through your pipe for the billing period. The energy charge is determined by the number of kilowatt-hours you consumed multiplied by an energy charge per kWh.
Electricity is measured in Watts and kilowatts Electricity is measured in units of power called Watts, named to honor James Watt, the inventor of the steam engine. A Watt is the unit of electrical power equal to one ampere under the pressure of one volt. One Watt is a small amount of power.
Generation Charge — Charges for the production electricity. KWH — (Kilowatt-hour) — The basic unit of electric energy for which most customers are charged. The amount of electricity used by ten 100-watt lights left on for 1 hour. Customers are usually charged for electricity in cents per kilowatt-hour.
Transmission Charge — Charges for moving high voltage electricity from a generation facility to the distribution lines of an electric distribution company. Based on federally regulated charges. Generation Charge — Charges for the production electricity.
What are transmission charges? These are charges assessed by your local utility company on your bill for the cost of moving high voltage electricity from the facility that generates that electricity through the distribution lines of your electric distribution company.
Energy delivery charges include two components: transmission and distribution. Transmission charges cover the cost of moving electric energy from generating facilities through high-voltage transmission lines to distribution utility substation transformers.
