You can also search for your school district at the National Center for Education Statistics website. The district will still have student records for all the high schools that belonged to the district and should be able to get you a copy of your transcript and send official copies on your behalf.

Contact your school district. If you have graduated recently from a public school, your records will likely be stored at your local school district office or county board of education. Depending on your school, you may be able to request your transcripts online, over the phone, or through the mail.

Get a copy sent from the college to the high school, so they can use it to restore your records. Write to or call the State Dept of education and tell them the problem. I would be surprised if they don't have copies from the school.
