How do you get an oversize permit?

How do you get an oversized load permit?

What is considered an oversize load?
Oversize and/or overpass (BOSOM) vehicles and loads. A vehicle or vehicle combination is considered to be BOSOM if it exceeds any general access mass or dimension limits. Typical examples include: Agricultural machines such as harvesters and grain augers.
Do I need an oversize permit?
Any load more than 8.5 feet wide is, by definition, an oversize load, and with few exceptions will require a state permit to travel on public highways. In some cases, on local, narrower roads, the maximum legal trailer width may be just 8 feet.
What is permit load?
A vehicle which exceeds the legal dimensions usually requires a special permit which requires extra fees to be paid in order for the oversize/overweight vehicle to legally travel on the roadways. The permit usually specifies a route the load must follow as well as the dates and times during which the load may travel.
