Can you notarize two signatures one document?
You may notarize the signature of one person appearing before you and then the second person can appear before a Notary in their city/state and have their signature notarized. Each Notary will complete notarial wording for the person appearing before them.
Do both parties need to be present to notarize a document?
Do all parties have to be present at the same place and time for a document to be notarized? Usually not, but it is best to ask your selected notary regarding the proper procedures in your state.
Can you notarize a document without the person being present?
In no jurisdiction would it be legal to notarize a document without the signing person present. It is impermissible to notarize the document after the person has signed. The entire point of having a notary is so that the notary can attest that the person who is alleged to have signed, actually did sign the document.
How do I notarize a document signed by two people in different locations?
More than two signers or signers are in different locations: Each signer should register for a Notarize Account. Once the first signer has notarized their document, they can then send the notarized document to the second signer. The second signer can then upload the notarized document, and proceed through the process.
What happens to the notary if they notarize a document without the signer being present?
No notary will notarize a document on behalf of a signer in the absence of the alleged signer. The presence of the person is absolutely necessary because the said person's signatures have to be taken by the notary in his official Register of records which it is mandatory for the notary to maintain.

As long as the signer is personally present before the notary and acknowledges the signature, then the notary can proceed with performing the notarial act.
