To scale proportionally from the center of the image, press and hold Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) as you drag a corner handle: Holding Alt (Win) / Option (Mac) to scale proportionally from the center.
Press-and-hold the Shift key, grab a corner point, and drag inward to resize the selection area. Because you're holding the Shift key as you scale, the aspect ratio (the same ratio as your original photo) remains exactly the same.
For example, if the scale factor is 1:8 and the real measurement is 32, divide 32 ÷ 8 = 32 to convert. To convert a measurement to a larger measurement simply multiply the real measurement by the scale factor. For example, if the scale factor is 1:8 and the measured length is 4, multiply 4 A 8 = 32 to convert.
To scale a layer proportionally in the Timeline panel, select the layer, press S to display the Scale property, click the Constraint Proportions icon to the left of the Scale values, and enter a new value for the x, y, or z scale.
