For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
A watermark typically identifies or decorates pages, and it can be either text or an image. Examples include the word Confidential stamped on every page or a business logo appearing in the background of every page of the document. Therefore, any object that is not transparent prints over or hides the watermark.
When a user needs to print confidential data, watermarks are a powerful, visual aid that reminds users of the need to properly handle, protect and dispose of printed material. Obvious examples of watermarks include shaded text phrases like Top Secret, Confidential, and Internal Use Only.
On the Design tab, select Watermark. In the Insert Watermark dialog, select Text and either type your own watermark text or select one, like DRAFT, from the list. Then, customize the watermark by setting the font, layout, size, colors, and orientation. Select OK.
A watermark is very useful in the examination of paper because it can be used for dating, identifying sizes, mill trademarks and locations, and determining the quality of a sheet of paper. The word is also used for digital practices that share similarities with physical watermarks.
A watermark is a faded background image that displays behind the text in a document. You can use them to indicate a document's state (confidential, draft, etc.), add a subtle company logo, or even for a bit of artistic flair.
While viewing a document in Print Layout, from the Page Layout tab, choose Watermark (found in the “Page Background” section) and then Custom Watermark. This opens a window where you can choose a picture or text and format it as you wish for use as a watermark.
